گے نہ؟“حمیدہ نے اس کا چہرہ اپنے ہاتھوں میں تھام کر بھیگی

انکھوں سے استفسار کیا۔ماں تھیں آخر کب تک اپنی اولاد کی

جدائی کا غم برداشت کر پاتیں۔ان کے سوال پر تو گویا مرتضی

تڑپ ہی اُٹھا تھا اور بے ساختہ انہیں دوبارہ اپنے گلے

سے لگا گیا۔مرتضی کو جو کمی حویلی میں موجود ہوتے ہوئے بھی

محسوس ہوئی تھی،اپنی ماں کو اپنے حصار میں لیے اور ان کی

مخصوص خوشبو کو محسوس کرتے اب وہ کمی بھی پوری ہوگئی تھی۔

”اماں جان آپ کا مرتضی اب کبھی بھی آپ کو چھوڑ کر نہیں جائے

گا۔“اس نے حمیدہ کے چہرے پر بہتے آنسوؤں کو اپنی انگلیوں کی

پوروں سے صاف کرتے کہا۔اپنی ماں کی آنکھوں میں آنسو اس کی

صاف ہو گئے تھے پر وہ لفظ جو کسی کوڑے کی طرح ہمیشہ اس کی

بازگشت میں اس پر برس رہے تھے وہ ختم ہونے کا نام نہیں لے

رہے تھے۔پھر سے سب یاد آیا تو گویا اس کا سانس لینا بھی مشکل

ہو گیا اور آنکھوں میں ایک الگ ہی چبھن محسوس ہونے لگی۔حمیدہ

جو بیٹے کو محبت پاش نظروں سے دیکھ رہیں تھی،اس کی آنکھوں میں امڈ

آنے والی نمی ان سے چھپی نہ رہی تھی جسے وہ بار بار پلکیں جھپكا کر دور

کرنے کی تگ و دو میں دکھائی دے رہا تھا۔وہ ایک ماں تھیں ان سے کچھ

چھپا نہیں رہا تھا۔ان کا بیٹا اب بھی اپنے ماضی کی قید سے نہیں

نکل پایا تھا۔اگر ان کے بس میں ہوتا تو وہ مرتضی کو ماضی کی

پکڑ سے نکال لاتیں۔وہ تو اسے یہ بھی نہیں کہہ سکتی تھیں کہ

سب بھول جاؤ آخر کو ان کے بیٹے کی بھی انا تھی جسے ٹھیس

پہنچی تھی۔آخر وہ اپنی ذات پر لگا اتنا گھناؤنا الزام کیسے سہن

کر پاتا۔جس الزام نے اس کی ز ندگی بربادی کی طرف

جھونک دی تھی۔ابھی حمیدہ نے کچھ بولنے کے لیے لب

کھولے ہی تھے جب مرتضی ان کے ہاتھ پکڑ کر گویا ہوا۔

”اماں آغا جان نظر نہیں آ رہے؟“وہ نہیں چاہتا تھا حمیدہ

اس سے ماضی کے بارے میں کچھ بھی کہیں اسی لیے ان

کے سوال پچھنے سے پہلے ہی وہ بات کو نیا رخ دے گیا۔

”وہ تو صبح فجر کے وقت ہی زمینوں کے لیے نکل گئے تھے۔
