“لیکن یار میں خدا کی قسم اٹھا کر کہتا ہوں کہ میرے دل میں اس کے لئے کچھ بھی نہیں تھا… کچھ بھی نہیں, بس اس نے کہا کہ ڈاکٹر صاحب لنچ پر چلتے ہیں اور میں نے ہاں کہہ دی…. زارا میری جان میں مانتا ہوں کہ مجھے اسے ہاں نہیں کہنی چاہیے تھی, میں دل سے اپنی بے وفائی پر شرمندہ ہوں, چاہے جو دل کرے قسم اٹھوا لو, جو چاہے شرط منوا لو, لیکن خدا کے لئے مجھے بس ایک بار معاف کر دو… میں اپنے خدا کو حاضر ناظر جان کے کہتا ہوں کہ مجھے اپنی بیوی سے بہت محبت ہے…. “وہ اس کی آنکھوں میں جھانکتے ہوئے کہتا چلا گیا

زارا اس کے بوجھ کے زیر اثر سیٹ کی پشت پر گر سی گئی, وہ ایک ہاتھ ڈور پر اور دوسرا گاڑی کے گیئر پر ٹکا کر اس پر پوری طرح جھک آیا تھا, بہت نرمی سے… بہت محبت سے… اس کے شیریں لبوں کی مٹھاس چکھتا چلا گیا تھا
