کاش یہ تهپڑ میں تجهے پہلے مار دیتا بدبخت تو نہ آج ماہل گمشدہ ہوتی اور نہ تیری ماں مرتی. تجهے ذرا سا بهی محسوس نہیں ہوا کہ تیرے ساتھ یہ سب عین اسی دن کیوں ہوا؟ تو نے بهی اس دن کسی کی بیٹی، کسی کی بہن اس سے چهین لی تو تیرے ساتھ یہ ہونا تو طے تها. بدبخت یہ تیرا مکافات عمل ہے. اب بهی وقت ہے سدهر جا. ماں تو تیری رہی نہیں شاید بہن رہ جائے. تجهہ سے بڑا کم بخت تو میں ہوں جو میں نے تجهہ جیسے انسان کی تربیت کی. میری شہ پہ ہی تو نے اتنا بڑا کالک میرے منہ پہ ملا ہے. میں نے تجهے شہ دے کر ناصرف تجهہ سے زیادتی کی بلکہ خود سی بهی زیادتی کر بیٹها نتیجہ آج میں سب سے زیادہ خسارے میں ہوں. وڈیرہ صاحب کی بات پہ روزان نے شرمندگی سے سر جهکا لیا. اس کے آنسو مسلسل بہہ رہے تهے شاید اب اس نے خود کو ضمیر کی عدالت میں کهڑا محسوس کیا.

معافی چاہتا ہوں میں بچے. انسان پہ جب تک خود نہیں گزرتی تب تک وہ سنهبلتا نہیں. بات میری بیٹی پہ آئی تو جیسے میری جان پہ بن گئی اور میں تڑپ اٹها. تمہارا باپ بهی تڑپا ہوگا مگر یہ بدبخت بہرہ بن کر ان کی بے بسی کا تماشہ دیکهتا رہا. دیکهو وقت نے کیسا پلٹا کھایا کہ آج اس کا پورا خاندان تماشہ بن چکا ہے. ہماری لاکھ کوششوں اور کئی اثر و رسوخ کے باوجود ماہل کو ہم ڈهونڈ نہ پائے. خدا جانے اسے زمین کها گئی یا آسمان نگل گیا. کسی کو کچھ خبر نہیں. تمہارے باپ کو کم از کم یہ تو معلوم ہے کہ اس کی بیٹی کو کون اٹھا کر لے گا جبکہ میں بدنصیب اپنی بیٹی کا مجرم کسی کو نہیں ٹہرا سکتا کیونکہ میں نے ماہل کو کسی کے ساتھ جاتے نہیں دیکھا شاید میں خود ہی مجرم ہوں. جو باپ اپنی اولاد کی ٹهیک طرح سے تربیت نہ کر سکے اس کے ساتھ ایسا ہونا تو بجا ہے. میں اور روزان طاقت کے نشے میں غرق یہ بات بهول گئے تھے کہ سب سے عظیم طاقت تو رب العالمین کی ہے. اس پاک اور برتر ذات کے آگے ہم جیسے ادنیٰ مخلوق کی کہاں چلتی ہے. دیکهو کیسا انصاف کیا رب کریم نے. تم یقیناً ان کی محبوب بندی ہو گی تبهی تو تمہیں نقصان پہنچانے والوں کی پکڑ فوراً ہوگئی. بچے ہو سکے تو مجھ مجبور باپ کو معاف کر دینا. تم چاہو تو میں تمہیں اس بدبخت سے آزادی دلا سکتا ہوں. وڈیرہ صاحب کی آواز بهرائی ہوئی تهی وہ رو رہے تهے
