عبید کی مسکراہٹ یک دم غائب ہوئی تھی ۔

وہ اتنے پُرسکون انداز میں بولا بلکل بےحس طریقے سے ایسا لگتا نہیں تھا کہ وہ اپنے متعلق بات کر رہا ہے ۔

تم بہت ظالم ہو زاویار شاہ نواز ، بہت سنگ دلی سے خود پر ظلم کرتے ہو ، تمہیں تو اپنے باپ پر بھی ترس نہیں آتا ۔

شکوے ناں کریں مجھ سے میں نے کیے تو آپ ہار جائیں گے ۔ وہ یہ کہتا ہوا ایسے ہنسا جیسے عبید نے کوئی لطیفہ سنایا ہو ۔

اور پاس بنی شلف پر سے تولیا اٹھا کر پسینہ صاف کرتا عبید کے ساتھ بیٹھ گیا ۔

زاویار کی ہنسی نے ایک پل کے لیے عبید کی سانس بند کر دی ۔ اور ان کے لبوں سے بے اختیار نکلا ۔

تم میرے سامنے یوں ہنسا ناں کرو ۔

کیوں ؟ زاویار کا لہجہ صاف اور سنجیدہ تھا ۔
