”اس نے پہلے ہی کہہ دیا تھا کہ بروز جمعے کو اگر اسے جائیداد اور زمینوں کے کاغذات نہیں دیئے گئے تو وہ ہمیں نقصان پہنچائے گا وہ اپنے عوض کے لیے کچھ بھی کرسکتا ہے۔“ذولفقار نے اپنی بیوی کو دیکھا آنکھوں میں چنگاریاں جھلک رہی تھیں۔
”تم تو خاموش ہی رہو۔“ اس کی بیوی خاموشی سے اسے دیکھ رہی تھی جبکہ اس کی یہ حالت اس کے دل کو راحت ہی راحت پہنچا رہی تھی۔
”یہ بات مت بھولو کہ وہ تمہارے بھائی کا اپنا سگا بیٹا نہیں ہے۔“ذولفقار نے اسے گھورتے ہوئے کہا۔
”وہ میرا بھتیجا ہے۔“وہ ڈرنے والوں میں سے نہیں تھی۔
”وہ تمہارا بھتیجا ہے تو کیا؟ ہاں٬ تو کیا؟۔“وہ اس کے قریب آرہا تھا۔
”شرافت سے اسے اس کا حق دے دو۔“ذولفقار زور زور سے ہسنے لگ گیا اور پھر خاموش۔
”اس سے مجھے کیا حاصل ہوگا بلکہ مجھے تو چھوڑو۔۔۔“اس کی بات مکمل نہ ہوسکی۔
”میں تو یہی چاہتی ہوں لیکن اس میں نقصان تمہارا ہوگا۔“
”مجھے کیوں نقصان ہوگا تمہاری جیسی عورت کے ساتھ میرا گزارا ویسے بھی ناگوار ہے۔“
”میری جیسی عورت مر کر بھی تم جیسے بوڑھے اور گنجے آدمی سے شادی نہیں کرے گی بلکہ وہ تو تمہیں دیکھنا تک گوارا نہیں سمجھے گی۔“
”کتنی بار منع کیا ہے ایسی باتیں مت کیا کرو میرے سامنے!۔“وہ اس کی بات کو بالائے طاق کر کے اسے وہی بیٹھا چھوڑ کر چلی گئی جو اس کی باتوں کو سوچ رہا تھا جو اس نے لمحے پہلے اس کے چہرے پر دے ماری تھیں۔
”میرا سر مت کھاؤ ورنہ حقیقت میں تمہیں گولی سے اُڑا دوں گا صرف ایک گولی کی مار ہو تم۔“ اس کے سامنے ایک پندرہ سال کا لڑکا بیٹھا ہوا تھا بیزار سا۔
”مجھے اس قسم کے مکانوں میں رہنے کی عادت نہیں ہے۔“رقیب نے اپنا لیپ ٹاپ بند کیا اور اسے گھورنے لگا۔
