“اگر آپ کی اجازت ہو تو اندر آجاؤں؟” اس نے پوچھا تو وہ کچھ کہے بِنا دروازے سے ہٹ گئی۔ وجدان اندر داخل ہوا اور دروازہ بند کیا۔
“ویسے مجھے امید نہیں تھی کہ آپ مجھے اندر آنے کی اجازت دیں گی۔” وجدان نے شاپر بیڈ پر رکھتے ہوئے کہا تو دعا بیڈ پر بیٹھی۔
“اخلاقیات تو یہی کہتی ہے کہ اتنی رات کو کسی لڑکی کے کمرے میں داخل نہیں ہوتے۔” دعا نوٹس سمیٹنے لگی تھی۔ وجدان اس کی طرف دیکھ کر مسکرایا۔
“اور اگر وہ لڑکی آپ کی بیوی ہو تو؟” اس کے کہنے پر دعا نے رُک کر اسے دیکھا پھر بولی۔
“اگر منصور صاحب کو معلوم ہو گیا ناں کہ چوکیدار صاحب ڈیوٹی چھوڑ کر “اپنی رشتہ دار” کے کمرے میں موجود ہیں تو ہم دونوں اس گھر سے دھکے دے کر نکالے جائیں گے۔” دعا نے “اپنی رشتہ دار” پر زور دیا تو وجدان ہنسا۔
“اچھا اب سمجھا۔ آپ کو اصل غصہ اس بات کا ہے کہ میں نے آپ کو رشتہ دار کیوں کہا۔ واؤ۔” وجدان محظوظ ہوا۔
“مجھے کیا ضرورت ہے کہ اِس فضول بات پر غصہ کروں مگر پلیز عینا کو کلئیر کر دیں کہ میں آپ کی بہن نہیں ہوں۔” وہ چِڑ کر بولی تو وجدان نے تعجب سے اسے دیکھا۔
“عینا نے یہ کہا؟”
“ہاں۔۔”
“وہ بالکل پاگل ہے۔ کچھ بھی بولتی ہے۔آپ اس کی باتوں کی فکر مت کریں۔اور فی الحال ان لوگوں سے ہمیں ہمارا رشتہ چھپانا ہے۔”
“لیکن کیوں؟” اسے واقعی سمجھ نہیں آرہی تھی۔ اس کے سوال پر وجدان نے ایک گہرا سانس لیا۔
“ابھی نہیں بتا سکتا۔”
“معلوم ہے۔ آپ کچھ بھی نہیں بتا سکتے۔ نہ اپنا اور میرے بابا کا تعلق اور نہ ہی ہمارا رشتہ چھپانے کی وجہ۔۔لیکن خیر! مجھے اب ان باتوں میں دلچسپی نہیں ہے۔مجھے بس کچھ عرصے کے لیے آپ کی ضرورت ہے۔ میں دو تین ماہ میں کوئی جاب ڈھونڈ لوں گی۔۔کوئی فلیٹ کرائے پر لوں گی۔اس کے بعد آپ مجھے چھوڑ سکتے ہیں۔” دعا نے یہ بات کہتے ہوئے وجدان کی آنکھوں میں دیکھنے سے گریز کیا تھا۔
