“اس طرح کے اداروں میں اس طرح کی باتیں عام ہیں۔تلخ حقیقت تو یہ ہے کہ ایسے درندوں کے خلاف آواز اٹھانے سے کچھ نہیں ہوتا۔کوئی فرق نہیں پڑتا کسی کو،کوئی نہیں آتا مدد کو،کوئی نہیں سنتا مظلوم کی پکار۔انہوں نے ابھی صرف معمولی سا ابیوز کیا ہے،کل وہ میری عزت پامال کر کے اسی کالج میں پھینک دیں گے پھر بہت سارے سٹوڈنٹس میری لاش کو سڑک پر رکھ کر احتجاج کریں گے،ساری دنیا میرے باپ کو ترحم کی نگاہ سے دیکھے گی،چند دن یہ تماشہ لگے گا اور پھر سب ختم۔پھر کوئی دوسری مناہل ہوگی مگر پروفیسر ہشام۔۔۔وہ وہیں ہوں گے،اسی عزت اور رتبہ کے ساتھ۔”وہ بنا رکے بولے جا رہی تھی۔
وہ بنا پلکیں جھپکے کرب سے اس کی بیان کردہ معاشرہ کی سفاکیت سنے جا رہی تھی جو کہ بےحد افسوس کے ساتھ سچائی تھی۔
“اور اگر بدقسمتی سے میں بچ گئی تو میرا اپنا ہی باپ میرے مرنے کی دعائیں کرے گا اور یہ معاشرہ مجھے ہی مجرم ثابت کرے گا اور مجھ میں عیب نکالے گا مگر مجرموں کے سامنے اسی طرح کے شُرفاء ڈھال بن کر کھڑے ہوں گے۔میرا باپ غریب آدمی ہے ان امیروں کے سامنے نہیں ٹِک سکے گا اور اپنی بیٹی کا حساب قیامت پر رکھ چھوڑے گا۔اور کیا ہی دل دہلا دینے والا ہوگا قیامت کا عذاب مگر اس سے قبل مجھے اور میرے باپ کو ہر روز،ہر پل،ہر لمحہ قیامتِ صغریٰ سے گزرنا ہوگا۔”گلے میں پھنسے آنسوؤں نے اب الفاظ کا دم گھونٹ دیا تھا۔
