“عشاء۔۔! تمیز، لحاظ سب بھول گئی ہو تم، کتنی بار سمجھایا ہے بڑا ہے تم سے، تمیز سے بات کیا کرو، پر نہیں تم نے تو جیسے ماں کی تربیت کو بےعزّت کروانے کی قسم کھائی ہے خاندان بھر میں”۔۔ یاسمین نے حسبِ عادت اُسے لتاڑا تھا۔۔ وہ روہانسی ہوئی تھی۔۔ حمزہ نے اُسے زبان چڑائی تھی۔۔

“امی ہمیشہ یہ حمزہ کا بچّہ۔۔”۔۔ ابھی اُس کی بات مُنہ میں ہی تھی جب اُنہوں نے ایک زور کا تھپڑ اُس کی پیٹھ پر رسید کیا تھا۔۔ وہ ایک دم چُپ ہوئی تھی۔۔
“ارے چھوٹی امّی یہ تو ہمارا مذاق ہے، آپ نے خواہ مخواہ میں ہی۔۔”۔۔ وہ ایک دم سے شرمندہ ہوا تھا۔۔ عشاء نے بھیگی آنکھوں سے اُسے دیکھا تھا۔۔

“یہ جھوٹی ہمدردی اپنے پاس رکھو”۔۔ وہ اُس کے پاس جا کر چِلا کر بولی تھی۔۔ پھر روتے ہوئے اپنے کمرے کی طرف بھاگی تھی۔۔
“بھائی آپ کی وجہ سے اُسے ہمیشہ ڈانٹ پڑتی ہے، اور آج تو حد ہی ہوگئی چھوٹی امّی آپ نے اچھا نہیں کیا”۔۔ مومنہ نے پہلے حمزہ کو دیکھا تھا، پھر یاسمین سے شکایت کرتی اپنے اور اُس کے مُشترکہ کمرے کی طرف بھاگی تھی۔۔

“اِس کو دیکھو بائیس سال کی ہوگئی ہے پر عقل کہیں پیروں میں ہی رہ گئی ہے اِس کی، اب تو ہول ہی اُٹھتے ہیں مجھے، زرینہ رُخصتی کی تاریخ مانگ رہی ہے، اور یہ ابھی تک بچّی بنی ہوئی ہے”۔۔ وہ سر پر ہاتھ رکھے پریشان سی ہوئی تھیں جبکہ وہ چونکا تھا۔۔

“کب۔۔؟؟”
“کہہ رہی تھی اگلے ماہ کی کوئی تاریخ دے دو، میں بھی سوچ رہی ہوں، نکاح تو ہو ہی گیا ہے اب خیر سے رُخصتی بھی ہوجائے تو میرا بوجھ بھی کم ہو”۔۔ وہ آبدیدہ ہوئی تھیں۔۔

“چھوٹی امی وہ کوئی بوجھ نہیں ہے ہم پر، میں اُس کو چِڑاتا ہوں، اُس کو تنگ کرتا ہوں پر یقین کریں وہ سب کی طرح مجھے بھی بہت عزیز ہے”۔۔ وہ اُن کو بازو کے حلقے میں لیے بولا تھا۔۔
“اللہ کے بعد تم لوگ ہی تو ہو میرے اپنے”۔۔ وہ اُس کی پیشانی چُومتی بولیں۔۔ وہ مُسکرانے کے ساتھ ساتھ سوچ رہا تھا کہ اُس مینڈکی کو کیسے منانا ہے۔۔
