”مجھے طلاق دے دو المیر احمد ورنہ میں خود خلاء لے لوں گی۔“ وہ کھڑے ہوتے ہوئے تقریباً چیخی تھی اسکا انداز بےانتہاء سرد تھا۔ المیر کو ایسا لگا جیسے ساتوں آسمان اس پر آگرے ہوں۔ فضا میں اچانک اسے آکسیجن کی کمی محسوس ہوئی تھی۔
”ہاجرہ۔۔۔ تم۔۔۔۔“ بامشکل اسکے حلق سے الفاظ ادا ہوتے کہ ہاجرہ نے ہاتھ کے اشارے سے اسے روک دیا۔
”مجھے سمجھانے کی کوشش بھی مت کرنا پچھلے ایک ہفتے سے سب یہی کررہے ہیں۔ المیر میرا دم گُھٹتا ہے اس گھر میں! مجھے نہیں رہنا اس گھر میں اب نا وہاں نا تمہارے ساتھ۔“ المیر نے آگے بڑھ کر غور سے اسکی آنکھوں میں دیکھا اور کئی لمحے دیکھتا رہا۔
”کیا دیکھ رہے ہو؟“ ہاجرہ نے جھنجھلا کر پوچھا تو وہ چند قدم پیچھے ہٹ کر زخمی سا مسکرایا۔
”ڈھونڈ رہا تھا۔ اگر مجھے تمہاری آنکھوں میں ذرّہ برابر بھی محبت دکھ جاتی تو میں آج تم سے لڑتا جھگڑتا لیکن۔۔۔۔ اجنبی سے کون لڑتا ہے؟“ اس نے اذیت سے قہقہہ لگایا تو ہاجرہ نے حیران ہوکر اسے دیکھا۔ اسے اسکی ذہنی حالت پر شبہ گزرا تھا۔
”میری محبت کا سوال کیا تھا نا تم نے؟ جاؤ ہاجرہ ہدایت اللّٰہ آزاد کرتا ہوں تمہیں۔ دی میں نے تمہیں تمہاری منہ مانگی شے۔ پھر نا کہنا کہ المیر کی چاہت بس نام کی تھی۔“ چند آنسو ٹوٹ کر اسکی آنکھوں سے گرے تھے۔ ہاجرہ کا دل اسکی بات پر تیزی سے دھڑکنے لگا۔ اسے نہیں لگا تھا وہ یوں اتنی آسانی سے مان جائے گا۔ المیر احمد بھلا کہاں اپنی محبت پر حرف آنے دے سکتا تھا۔
”مجھے چند دن کا وقت دو امی سے بات کرنی ہوگی۔ تم فکر نا کرنا یہ معاشرہ تم سے سوال نہیں کرے گا میں خود سے کوئی جواز بناکر تمہیں بری الزمہ کردوں گا۔“
”تمہاری اس مہربانی کی ضرورت نہیں ہے مجھے!“ ہاجرہ نے سختی سے اسے ٹوکا۔
”اس معاشرے کو جانتی نہیں ہو کیا تم؟ ایک دن چین سے جینے نہیں دے گا۔ میں مرد ہوں مجھے کوئی کچھ نہیں کہے گا اور ویسے بھی نکاح نامے پر دستخط کرتے ہوئے تمہاری حفاظت کا وعدہ کیا تھا تو تمہاری آبرو کی حفاظت مجھے کرنی ہی ہے۔“ اسکی بات پر ہاجرہ کے دل کو کچھ ہوا تھا لیکن پھر اپنے منصوبے کا خیال آتے ہی وہ دوبارہ پتھر کی بن گئی تھی۔
”تم نے مجھ سے کبھی محبت کی تھی میرے لیے یہی کافی ہے۔ خود پر کوئی بوجھ مت رکھنا ہاجرہ تم کچھ غلط نہیں کررہی میں تو پہلے ہی کہتا تھا کہ میں تمہارے قابل نہیں ہوں تمہارا پورا حق ہے ہاجرہ کہ تم ایک بہترین زندگی گزارو۔“ المیر نے اسے دونوں شانوں سے تھام کر نرمی سے کہا تو وہ حیرت کے سمندر میں غرق ہوتے ہوئے اسے دیکھنے لگی۔ وہ کیسا مرد تھا؟ شاید اصلی مرد تھا۔
