حویلی کے تاریک ہال میں تاش، شراب اور قہقہوں کی آوازیں گونج رہی تھیں۔ ساحل نے اپنا جام اٹھایا اور حمزہ کے کندھے پر ہاتھ رکھ کر بولا: “حمزہ بھائی! آج جو تم نے جوے کی میز پر رقم اڑائی ہے نا… سچ میں کمال کر دیا۔ جگر چاہیے اتنا پیسہ ایک رات میں پھونکنے کے لیے۔”

حمزہ نے سگریٹ کی راکھ جھاڑی اور غصے سے آگے بولا: “مطلب حد ہوتی ہے یار! ابا خود تو دنیا سے چلے گئے، لیکن جاتے جاتے اماں کے پلے یہ مصیبت باندھ گئے کہ ‘حمزہ کو نیک بنانا’۔ اب کیا میں چوبیس گھنٹے مصلے پر بیٹھا رہوں؟ اپنی کوئی لائف ہی نہ جیوں ؟زندگی عذاب بنا دی ہے اس عورت نے۔”
علی نے پتے میز پر پٹخے اور طنزاً بولا: “نیک بننا ہے تو جاؤ پھر کسی خانقاہ میں بیٹھ جاؤ۔ یہاں حویلی میں ہمارا وقت کیوں برباد کر رہے ہو؟ یار حمزہ! باپ تو مرتے مرتے وصیتیں ہی کرتے ہیں۔ اب کیا تم ان مردوں کے کہنے پر اپنی جیتی جاگتی زندگی کا جنازہ نکال دو گے؟ شیر بنو یار، اپنے فیصلے خود کرو!”
اسی لمحے حمزہ کے فون کی سکرین روشن ہوئی۔ اس نے دیکھا—اماں کی 15 مسڈ کالز چمک رہی تھیں۔
