“Faryad-e-Yaad” follows the life of Hanan, a young corporate professional whose life turns upside down when a mysterious, veiled girl named Arisha accidentally boards his car during a traffic jam. Though she leaves abruptly, her striking eyes and ethereal presence leave an everlasting impression on Hanan. Days later, he spots her in a boutique and later at a restaurant, where he confirms his growing obsession. Realizing he is deeply in love, Hanan shares his feelings with his doting, single father, Ayaz, who lovingly agrees to approach Arisha’s mother, Almas, for a formal marriage proposal.

شٹ… آج پھر سے ٹریفک بہت ہے… روز کا ہو گیا ہے، منٹوں کا راستہ ہوتا ہے اور اس ٹریفک کی وجہ سے گھنٹوں لگ جاتے ہیں آفس پہنچنے میں… کیا مصیبت ہے… حنان اپنے ہی ساتھ کار میں بیٹھا بڑبڑاتا رہا۔
اوپر سے یہ سگنل بند ہو جائے تو اُف!…. اس کا یہ کہنا تھا کہ اتنے میں سگنل سرخ سے سبز ہوا… گاڑی کا دروازہ کھلا اور کوئی جلد بازی میں گاڑی کے اندر آ بیٹھا … اسی لمحے سگنل کھلنے کی وجہ سے حنان گاڑی کو چلانے لگا تھا… حنان کو سمجھ ہی نہیں آئی کہ آخر یہ اچانک سے ہوا کیا اور کون آ کے اس کے ساتھ والی سیٹ پر بن بلائے بیٹھ گیا… گاڑی روکتا تو پیچھے کا ٹریفک ہارن بجا بجا کر اسے رکنے نہ دیتا اس لیئے اس نے گاڑی چلاتے ہوئے اپنی سائیڈ سیٹ پر بیٹھے شخص کی طرف دیکھا اور غصیلے لہجے میں بولا:
“یہ کیا بدتمیزی ہے؟ بن بلائے مہمان کی طرح میری گاڑی میں آ بیٹھے ہو… اترو میری گاڑی سے ابھی اور اسی وقت…
تم ڈکیت ہو کیا؟ لوٹنے آئے ہو مجھے…؟
بولو، چپ کیوں ہو؟”
“تم خاموشی سے گاڑی نہیں بھگا سکتے؟” ایک نازک سی آواز بولی۔
“لڑکی ہو تم؟” حنان حیرت انگیز لہجے میں بولا۔
“لڑکیاں بھی ڈکیت بن گئیں… اور میں گاڑی بھگا نہیں رہا، چلا رہا ہوں…”
“منہ بند کرتے ہو یا دوں ایک منہ پر؟” اریشہ غصے سے بولی۔
“او میڈم، تمیز سے! ایک تو چوری، اوپر سے سینہ زوری! یہ میری گاڑی ہے جس میں تم بن بلائے آ بیٹھی ہو اور مجھی سے بدتمیزی کر رہی ہو… ہو کون تم؟ چاہتی کیا ہو آخر؟”

ناول “فریادِ یاد” (از قلم حسنِ تحریر) محبت، قربانی، اور سماجی روایتی سوچ کے خلاف ایک مضبوط جنگ کی جذباتی کہانی ہے۔ کہانی کا آغاز حنان نامی نوجوان سے ہوتا ہے، جس کی زندگی میں اس وقت طوفان آتا ہے جب ایک نامعلوم نقاب پوش لڑکی اریشہ اچانک ٹریفک کے دوران اس کی گاڑی میں آ بیٹھتی ہے۔ اگرچہ وہ غصے میں اتر جاتی ہے، لیکن حنان کے دل پر اس کی آنکھوں کا جادو ایسا نقش ہوتا ہے کہ وہ اسے بھول نہیں پاتا۔
