بہرام کی سانس رک گئی۔
“کون سا نام؟”
بوڑھے نے جواب دینے سے پہلے کہا:
“اگر میں نے تمہیں یہ نام بتا دیا…”
“تو؟”
“تو تم شہریار کے پیچھے نہیں جاؤ گے۔”
بہرام کی پیشانی پر شکنیں پڑ گئیں۔
“کیوں؟”
بوڑھے کی آواز بہت دھیمی ہو گئی۔
“کیونکہ پھر تمہیں معلوم ہوگا کہ شہریار اس کہانی کا آخری کردار نہیں ہے۔”
کال بند ہو گئی۔
بہرام کچھ لمحے فون کو دیکھتا رہا۔
زوار نے پوچھا:
“کیا کہا اس نے؟”
بہرام نے آہستہ سے جواب دیا:
“وہ کہہ رہا ہے کہ ہم غلط دشمن کے پیچھے ہیں۔”

“بہرام کو روکنا نہیں۔”
“اور عنائزہ؟”
شہریار نے چند لمحے سوچا۔
پھر بولا:
“اسے بھی نہیں۔”
“کیوں؟”
شہریار نے کھڑکی سے باہر دیکھا۔
“کیونکہ اب وہ خود میرے لیے وہ دروازہ کھولنے والی ہے…”
اس نے بات ادھوری چھوڑ دی۔
میز پر پڑے نقشے کی طرف دیکھا۔
اور بہت آہستہ سے کہا:
“جس کے پیچھے میں اتنے سال سے کھڑا ہوں۔”
