بیٹا میرا دوست جو کچھ دیر پہلے میرے ساتھ مل کر کھانا کھا رہا تھا وہ اچانک اس طرح دنیا سے رخصت ہو جائے گا میں نے یہ سوچا بھی نہیں تھا بیچارا میرے بلاوے پر یہاں آیا اور اپنی جان گنوا بیٹھا اگر مجھے پتا ہوتا تو میں اسے کبھی یہاں آنے کا نہیں کہتا۔۔۔ یہ کہتے ہوئے حنیف اور زیادہ رونے لگا اور باقی گھر والے بھی بابو کی لاش کو دیکھ کر بار بار رو رہے تھے پھر کچھ دیر بعد دروازے پر دستک ہوئی تو اسلم نے باہر جاکر دیکھا تو باہر پولیس کی گاڑی کھڑی تھی پھر اسلم پولیس والوں بابو کی لاش کے پاس لے آیا پھر رفیق اور اسلم نے پولیس کو سب کچھ بتایا تو پولیس والے نے رفیق سے کہا
دیکھیں جناب آپ ہمیں غلط مت سمجھیئے گا پہلے ہمیں بابو کا پوسٹ مارٹم کرونا ہے اس کے بعد ہم آپ لوگوں سے مذید پوچھ تاچھ کریں گے دراصل آپ لوگوں نے ہمیں جو کچھ بھی بتایا ہے وہ قانون کی نظر میں کوئی اہمیت نہیں رکھتا کیونکہ قانون صرف ثبوتوں کی روشنی میں فیصلے کرتا ہے اور آپ لوگوں کے پاس اس بات کا کوئی ثبوت نہیں ہے کہ یہ قتل کس نے کیا ہے ۔ یہ سنتے ہی اسلم نے کہا
لیکن انسپکٹر صاحب ہم نے اس منحوس عورت کو اپنی آنکھوں سے دیکھا ہے وہ جب سے یہاں آئی ہے تب سے ہی لوگوں کو تنگ کر رہی ہے یہ پکا اسی عورت کا کام ہے۔
یہ سنتے ہی انسپکٹر نے اپنے ہی ایک پولیس والے بندے خالد کی طرف عجیب طریقے سے دیکھا تو خالد نے انسپکٹر سے کہا
سر جی میں نے پہلے بھی آپ کو بتایا تھا نا کہ ایسی ہی ایک عورت میں نے بھی دیکھی تھی جو کسی کو پکڑ کر نہر میں ڈبو رہی تھی لیکن آپ نے مجھے پاگل کہہ کر خاموش کروا دیا تھا تو دیکھ لو آج یہ لوگ بھی ویسی ہی عورت کے بارے میں آپ کو بتا رہے ہیں۔ یہ سنتے ہی انسپکٹر نے خالد کو( شٹ اپ) کال دیتے ہوئے کہا
اگر ایسی ہی کوئی عورت ہے تو پھر ہم پورے آٹھ دن اسے یہاں تلاش کرتے رہے ہیں تو وہ کہیں نظر کیوں نہیں آئی تھی اور نہ ہی تم اسے ڈھونڈ پائے ہو اب تک۔۔ اس لیئے تم خاموش ہی رہو تو بہتر ہے۔۔ یہ کہنے کے بعد انسپکٹر نے رفیق سے کہا دیکھیں آپ لوگوں نے جو بھی دیکھا اور بتایا میں یہ نہیں کہتا کہ آپ لوگ جھوٹ بول رہے ہیں لیکن فلحال مجھے بابو کا پوسٹ مارٹم کروانا ہے اس کے بعد میں آپ سے بات کروں گا اور اگر پوسٹ مارٹم کی رپورٹ کے مطابق بابو کا قتل ٹھیک ویسے ہی ہوا ہے جیسا آپ لوگ بتا رہے ہیں تو پھر ہم اس معاملے میں کوئی چارہ جوئی کریں گے اس لیئے اب ہمیں اجازت دیں اس کے بعد انسپکٹر نے بابو کی لاش پوسٹ مارٹم کے لیئے بھیج دی اور چلا گیا۔ انسپکٹر کے جاتے ہی آمنہ نے کہا
یہ کیسے پولیس والے ہیں انہیں ہماری باتوں پر یقین ہی نہیں ہو رہا۔۔۔ اگر انہوں نے اب بھی اس منحوس عورت کو نہیں پکڑا تو وہ پتا نہیں مزید اور کتنی جانیں لے گی۔۔
