”آپریشن سائرینا۔ اگست 1945۔ اطالوی ساحل کے قریب آبدوزوں کے راستے… خفیہ لاگز ، پیغامات پکڑنے کے احکامات…”
اس نے اوپر دیکھا۔ “یہ کوئی خزانہ نہیں ہے۔”
”نہیں،” ايما نے کہا۔ “یہ معلومات ہیں۔ راز ہیں۔”
تهامس سونا نہیں ڈھونڈ رہے تھے۔ وہ کسی ایسی چیز کی حفاظت کر رہے تھے جو بہت زیادہ خطرناک تھی۔
ڈبے کے سب سے نیچے ایک بند لفافہ تھا
جس پر خوبصورت لکھائی میں لکھا تھا:
’آرتھرکے نام’ ۔ اس وقت کے لیے جب سچ،خاموشی سے زیادہ محفوظ ہو جائے۔»
ايما نے لرزتے ہاتھوں سے اسے کھولا۔
اندر ایک خط تھا اور دو لڑکوں کی سیاہ و سفید تصویر جو لائٹ ہاؤس کی سیڑھیوں پر بیٹھے تھے۔
وہ آرتھر اور تهامس تھے، بمشکل دس سال کے۔
خط میں سب کچھ واضح تھا۔
تهامس کو معلوم ہو گیا تھا کہ جنگ کے دوران ‘روجر ‘ نامی جہاز خفیہ طور پر فوجی دستاویزات لے جا رہا تھا ۔جنہیں سویلین سامان کا نام دیا گیا تھا۔ جہاز ڈوبنے کے بعد انہوں نے ان دستاویزات کو بچا لیا اور انہیں یہاں چھپا دیا۔
لیکن کسی اور کو بھی اس کی بھنک پڑ گئی تھی.
—ایسے لوگ جو نہیں چاہتے تھے کہ یہ فائلیں یہ راز کبھی کسی اور کے سامنے آئیں۔
”میں نے انہیں چھپا دیا ہے،” تهامس نے لکھا تھا۔ “کیونکہ علم بھی ایک قسم کا خزانہ ہے، اور اسے غلط ہاتھوں میں نہیں لگنا چاہیے۔”
خط کے آخر میں ایک پیغام لکھا تھا:
«اگر تم یہ پڑھ رہے ہو، تو کسی نے تمہارا پیچھا کیا ہے۔
کسی پر بھروسہ نہ کرنا سوائے اپنے خون (خاندان) کے۔»
کیون نے ايما کی طرف دیکھا۔ “غار والاآدمی… وہ یقیناً اسی کی تلاش میں تھا۔”
ايما نے سر ہلا کر تصدیق کی۔ “اور اب اسے پتہ ہے کہ ہم اس سے آگے ہیں۔”
وہ ان فائلوں اور تهامس کی تنبیہ کو دیکھتے رہے، پھر
ایک دوسرے کی طرف دیکھا۔
ہمیں دادا جان کو بتانا ہوگا،” ايما نے کہا۔
”لیکن ابھی نہیں،” کیون نے آہستگی سےکہا۔
اس نے سوالیہ نظروں سے کیون کو دیکھا۔
“لیکن ابھی کیوں نہیں ؟”
”کیونکہ شاید وہ ہم پر یقین نہ کریں۔ کیوں کہ ہمارے پاس کوئی ثبوت نہیں ہے ہمیں وہ کام مکمل کرنا ہوگا جو تهامس نے شروع کیا تھا۔”
باہر ہوا تیز ہو چکی تھی۔ اور دور ساحلی راستے پر ایک سایہ کھڑا انہیں دیکھ رہا تھا۔
وہ برساتی والا آدمی تھا۔
