(Current Episode 1)
Dasht-E-Wehshat by Aizah Khan Complete novel. “Dasht-E-Wehshat” by Aiza Khan is a deeply moving and emotionally charged Urdu social narrative that delves into the themes of sacrifice, familial commitment, trial, and unexpected deceit. The story focuses on Hale Noor, a resilient, educated, and hardworking 24-year-old living in a humble neighborhood of Lahore.
As the eldest child, Hale shoulders the heavy burden of supporting her ailing mother, Noor-ul-Huda Begum, while funding the education of her siblings, Ayat and Sibtain. Desperate to cover her mother’s exorbitant medical bills, Hale spends all her savings and borrows money to secure a job visa to London through an agency named “Harry & Sons.”
Her departure, however, is met with severe family drama. Her maternal aunt threatens to break the engagement between her son Faris and Ayat if Hale travels abroad alone. In an act of selfless devotion, Ayat urges Hale to pursue the opportunity regardless, prioritizing their mother’s life over her own personal happiness.
Hale departs Lahore with a heavy heart and high hopes, leaving her family behind. Upon arriving at Heathrow Airport in London, her hopes are shattered. Reaching the company address, she discovers a locked building and learns through locals that the agency was a complete scam. With almost no cash left, no return ticket, and no acquaintances in a foreign land, Hale is left completely stranded on the freezing streets of London. Dasht-E-Wehshat sets the stage for a compelling journey of survival, courage, and human endurance amidst severe emotional and physical wilderness.

Short Scene From Novel
