رابعہ رحمٰن کا تعلق سیالکوٹ سے ہے۔ وہ بچپن سے ہی مطالعے کی شوقین تھیں، لیکن ساتھ ہی معاشرے میں پائی جانے والی برائیاں انہیں بےحد پریشان کرتی تھیں۔ انہی مسائل پر غور کرتے ہوئے، انہوں نے سوچا کہ کیوں نہ اپنے قلم کے ذریعے ایک چھوٹی سی کوشش کی جائے۔ اسی خیال کے تحت، انہوں نے اپنی ایک دوست کو کہانی سنائی اور اس سے مشورہ کیا۔ دوست نے ان کی حوصلہ افزائی کی اور کہا کہ انہیں لکھنا چاہیے۔
یہی لمحہ ان کے ادبی سفر کا نقطۂ آغاز بنا، اور یوں انہوں نے اپنا پہلا ناول “پسِ آئینہ” لکھا، جو قارئین کو بےحد پسند آیا۔ اس پذیرائی پر وہ اپنے قارئین کی مشکور ہیں۔ اس وقت وہ اپنے دوسرے ناول پر کام کر رہی ہیں، جو ایک شارٹ ناول ہے۔

رات گہری ہو رہی تھی ہلکی ہلکی ہوا بھی چل رہی تھی
شاید بارش ہوئی تھی ہر طرف اندھیرا تھا گہرا اندھیرا۔ وہ تینوں تقریبا بھاگتے ہوئے بیسمینٹ تک پہنچے تھے مگر اس سے پہلے کہ وہ اس کو ڈھونڈتے ان کے کانوں نے ٹھاہ کی آواز سنی۔ ہر چیز چند لمحوں کے لیے جیسے ساکت ہو گئی تھی پھر ان تینوں نے خون کی لکیر دیکھی اور وہ سمجھ گئے تھے کہ ان کو آنے میں دیر ہوگئی تھی۔ اس سے پہلے کہ وہ لڑکی چیخ مارتی پاس کھڑے اس لڑکے نے اس کے لبوں پر سختی سے ہاتھ رکھ کر اس کی چیخوں کا گلا گھونٹا، آنسوں ابل ابل کر لڑکی کی آنکھوں سے نکل رہے تھے۔
” آواز مت نکالنا چلو یہاں سے.” لڑکے نے بنا کسی کو مخاطب کیے سنجیدگی سے کہا اور لڑکی کا ہاتھ پکڑ کر پلٹا، تیسرے نے بھی ان کی پیروی کی تھی۔
