جب تنعیم اس حقیقت کی تلخی سے پریشان ہو کر ارشمان سے تعلق توڑنے کی کوشش کرتی ہے، تو ارشمان کا جنون عیاں ہوتا ہے۔ وہ زبردستی کی قربت اور جذباتی دھمکیوں کے ذریعے تنعیم کو اپنے پاس رہنے پر مجبور کرتا ہے، جس سے ثابت ہوتا ہے کہ اس خاندان کے مرد اپنی عورتوں پر کس حد تک حاکمیت پسند ہیں۔ ان کے نزدیک محبت بھی ایک طرح کی ضد اور ملکیت کا اظہار ہے۔

اسی اقتباس میں یہ انکشاف بھی ہوتا ہے کہ شفان اور شعبان نے اپنی بچپن کی منکوحہ رشتہ دار لڑکیوں، رشنا اور رعنین کو طلاق دینے کا فیصلہ کر لیا ہے۔ یہ خبر ان کے گھروں میں ایک نئی جنگ کا آغاز کرتی ہے۔ جہاں رومان کے والد رحمن علوی اپنی بہو شارعین کو مکمل تحفظ دیتے ہوئے فوراً اس کے ولیمے کا اعلان کرتے ہیں، وہیں رومان کی والدہ مریم علوی اپنی بیٹیوں کو ملنے والی طلاق کا سارا غصہ شارعین پر نکالتی ہیں، جو خاندانی تفریق کو واضح کرتا ہے۔

یہ نکاح فانی بھائی نے اپنی مرضی سے نہیں کیا تھا بلکہ بچپن میں ان کے تایا جان نے فانی بھائی سمیت ، بھائی جان اور ان کی چھوٹی بہن شاری تینوں کا نکاح خود اپنے بچوں سے کروا دیا تھا۔۔۔ جب فانی بھائی کا نکاح ہوا تھا اس وقت ان کی عمر محض پندرہ سال کی تھی۔۔۔ بھائی جان تیرہ سال کے تھے اور شاری آٹھ سال کی تھی۔۔
یہ تینوں نکاح بس فانی بھائی کے بڑے ابا کی خواہش پر ہوئے تھے۔۔۔ مگر نکاح کے بعد ہی فانی بھائی ، بھائی جان اور شاری سب لوگ سوئزرلینڈ چلے گئے اور ان سب کا اپنے تابا ابا اور ان کی فیملی سے بلکل رابطہ ٹوٹ گیا۔۔ کبھی کوئی کانٹیکٹ نہیں ہوا۔۔۔
