جیا (مرکزی کردار): کہانی کی ہیروئن، جسے الیاس صاحب بچپن میں بارش کے دوران گیٹ سے اٹھا کر لائے تھے اور بیٹی کی طرح پالا تھا۔ وہ انتہائی صابر، خوبصورت اور فواد کی محبت میں رنگی ہوئی لڑکی ہے، جو زکیہ بیگم کے طعنوں کے باوجود خاموشی سے گھر اور ماں کی خدمت کرتی ہے۔
الیاس صاحب (فواد کے والد): ایک شفیق اور رحم دل انسان جنہوں نے جیا کو سہار دیا۔ اگرچہ وہ ایک وقت پر حالات کے سامنے مجبور ہو کر فواد کی مرضی کے خلاف فیصلہ کر لیتے ہیں، مگر آخر میں انہیں اپنی غلطی کا احساس ہو جاتا ہے۔

اُس کی دھڑکن تیز ہو گئی جبکہ دروازے کے باہر فواد بےچینی سے اُس کے ہوش میں آنے کا انتظار کر رہا تھا۔
فواد کمرے میں داخل ہوا تو جیا کو جاگتا دیکھ کر اُس کے چہرے پر خوشی دوڑ گئی۔
“جیا… تمہیں ہوش آ گیا۔”
جیا کی آنکھیں آنسوؤں سے بھر گئیں۔ فواد بھی آ کر اُس کے قریب بیٹھ گیا۔
“قسمت کی ستم ظریفی سمجھو یا معجزہ… تم آج یہاں میرے سامنے بیٹھی ہو۔”
جیا نے نظریں جھکا لیں۔
“چھوڑ کر تم گئے تھے، ہم نہیں۔”
یہ سنتے ہی اُس کے آنسو گالوں پر بہہ نکلے۔
فواد نے اپنے ہونٹ بھینچ لیے اور اُٹھ کر کھڑکی کے پاس جا کھڑا ہوا۔
“میں مجبور تھا، جیا۔ میں تمہیں کسی اور کے ساتھ جاتا نہیں دیکھ سکتا تھا۔ میں تم سے محبت کرتا تھا… اتنی محبت کہ تمہارے سامنے پوری دنیا بھی کم لگتی تھی۔”
جیا سانس روکے اُس کے دل کا انکشاف سن رہی تھی۔
“مگر میں اپنے ماں باپ کی نظروں میں ظالم اور نافرمان نہیں بن سکتا تھا۔ میں نے خود کو سمجھا لیا تھا کہ شاید یہی بہت
“اور پھر تم بھی انور کے ساتھ چلی گئیں۔”
یہ کہتے ہوئے اُس نے جیا کی طرف دیکھا۔ اُس کی آنکھیں سرخ ہو چکی تھیں، جیسے برسوں کا درد اُن میں جمع ہو۔
چند لمحے خاموشی چھائی رہی۔
پھر فواد نے خود کو سنبھالتے ہوئے پوچھا،
“کہو… کیسے آنا ہوا؟ گھر میں سب کیسے ہیں؟”
