“اے رب العالمین! میرے بچوں پر رحم فرمانا، جب تک انہیں میری ضرورت ہے مجھے صحت، صبر اور ہمت عطا فرما۔”
اتنے میں عائشہ کی آنکھ کھل گئی۔ اس نے اپنی والدہ کو لڑکھڑاتے دیکھا تو فوراً ان کے پاس پہنچ گئی۔
“امی! آپ بیٹھ جائیں، میں ابھی پانی لاتی ہوں۔”
وہ جلدی سے پانی لے آئی۔ زینب نے چند گھونٹ پیے تو طبیعت کچھ سنبھلی، مگر چہرے کی زردی اور کمزوری اب بھی نمایاں تھی۔
زینب نے بیٹی کے چہرے کو محبت سے دیکھا اور مسکرا کر بولیں:
“تم ابھی بچی ہو، اتنی فکر نہ کیا کرو۔”
عائشہ نے ان کا ہاتھ مضبوطی سے تھام لیا۔
“امی! اگر اولاد اپنے والدین کی فکر نہ کرے تو پھر کون کرے گا؟”
زینب کی آنکھوں میں نمی اتر آئی۔ انہوں نے عائشہ کو سینے سے لگا لیا اور اس کے سر پر شفقت سے ہاتھ پھیرنے لگیں۔
اسی وقت محمد اسلم بھی نمازِ فجر ادا کرکے گھر واپس آگئے۔ گھر میں داخل ہوتے ہی ان کی نظر زینب پر پڑی۔ ان کے چہرے کی زردی، کمزوری اور بے جان سی کیفیت دیکھ کر وہ پریشان ہو گئے۔
وہ فوراً ان کے قریب آئے اور فکر بھرے لہجے میں بولے:
“زینب! آج ہم ڈاکٹر کے پاس ضرور جائیں گے۔ اب مزید لاپرواہی نہیں ہوگی۔ بلڈ پریشر کو معمولی سمجھنا ٹھیک نہیں۔”
زینب نے دھیرے سے کہا:
“لیکن بچوں کی اسکول کی فیس بھی تو دینی ہے، اور گھر کے اخراجات بھی بہت ہیں۔”
