” تم ایک ایسی چار پانچ سال کی بچی اٹھا لائے ہو جسے تم جانتے بھی نہیں ہو ۔۔۔” ترنم خانم کی حیرت عروج پر تھی اور یہ حیرت اس کے چہرے پر پڑھی جا سکتی تھی ۔
” ہاں مجھے اس وقت یہی مناسب لگا ۔۔۔” میں نے اپنی طرف سے بات ختم کرنا چاہی لیکن یہ میری غلط فہمی تھی ۔ اس کے سوال و جواب ابھی ختم نہیں ہوئے تھے ۔
” کہاں سے ملی یہ تمہیں ۔۔۔؟”
” اتنی دیر میں یہ پہلا مناسب سوال کیا ہے تم نے ۔۔۔۔” میرے کہنے پر وہ مجھے خشمگین نگاہوں سے گھورنے لگی تاہم بولی کچھ نہیں ۔
