یہ میرا پہلا ناول ہے…اور شاید آخری بھی۔کہانیاں ہمیشہ میرے ذہن میں رہی ہیں، بہت سی کہانیاں۔مگر انہیں لفظوں میں ڈھالنا میرے لیے ہمیشہ مشکل رہا، کیونکہ میرے پاس الفاظ کا وہ وسیع خزانہ کبھی نہیں تھا جو ایک لکھاری کے پاس ہونا چاہیے۔ میرے ذہن میں تین مختلف کہانیاں تھیں، لیکن ان سب میں سے میں نے سب سے پہلے اسی کہانی کو لکھنا پسند کیا، کیونکہ شاید اس کے بارے میں میرے دل میں سب سے زیادہ احساسات اور سب سے زیادہ کہنے کو تھا۔
میں یہ ناول اپنی یونیورسٹی کے دوسرے سمسٹر میں لکھ رہی ہوں۔جب میں سکول میں تھی تب میں خود سے کہانیاں بنا کے اپنی دوستوں کو سناتی تھی اور انہیں کہتی تھی کہ یہ کوئی انڈین سیریل ہے جو میں نے فلاں ایپ سے دیکھا حالانکہ اس نام کی نہ کوئی ڈرامہ ہوتا اور نہ کوئی ایپ ہوتی تھی۔لڑکیوں کو میری کہانی اچھی لگتی تھی تب کہیں نہ کہیں میرے دل میں تھا کہ میں ایک رائٹر بن سکتی ہوں لیکن یہ کبھی نہیں تھا کہ میں ناول لکھوں گی۔
اور اگر آپ مجھ سے ایک سال پہلے ناولز کے بارے میں پوچھتے، تو شاید میں اس دنیا سے بالکل ناواقف ہوتی۔ ناولز سے میرا پہلا تعلق پیرِ کامل تھا۔ یہی پہلا ناول تھا جو میں نے پڑھا، اور پھر اس کے بعد میں نے بےشمار ناولز پڑھے۔ لیکن پیرِ کامل سے میری محبت غیر مشروط ہے۔
پیر کامل اور سالار سکندر میرے دل میں ایک الگ مقام رکھتے ہیں۔، میں اس ناول سے بےحد متاثر رہی ہوں، اور شاید اسی محبت نے مجھے لکھنے کی ہمت دی۔ ۔اور آخر میں…اگر اللہ نے چاہا، اور اگر میں اپنی دوسری کہانیوں کو بھی الفاظ کی ترتیب دے سکی، تو بہت جلد ایک نئے ناول کے ساتھ دوبارہ آپ سے ملاقات ہوگی۔

کمرے میں چند لمحے مکمل خاموشی رہی۔زاویا کی انگلیاں آہستہ سے سخت ہوئیں۔
مگر چہرہ اب بھی پرسکون تھا۔
“اوقات پہ لیکچر دے کون رہا ہے؟، ماہین بیگم…” اس نے ماہین بیگم کو سر سے لے کر پاؤں تک دیکھتے ہوئے کہا جیسے ان کو ہی جتایا گیا تھا
“تم حد سے بڑھ رہی ہو۔”
“نہیں۔”
زاویا نے پہلی بار سیدھا ان کی آنکھوں میں دیکھا۔
“بس اب خاموش رہنا چھوڑ دیا ہے۔”
ماہین بیگم طنزیہ انداز میں ہنسیں۔
“اچھا؟ پھر جا کر فیروز پاشا کو بھی یہی لیکچر دے دینا۔”
زاویا کی آنکھیں ذرا سکڑیں۔
انہیں تمہارے یہ کام پسند نہیں ہیں۔”انہیں پسند نہیں کہ ان کے گھر کی لڑکی اخباروں میں پھرے… پولیس اسٹیشنوں میں جائے… اور غریب عورتوں کے لیے سڑکوں پر چیختی پھرے۔”وہ آرام سے بولیں۔
“ زاویا خاموش رہی۔پھر بہت آہستہ سے مسکرائی۔
وہ مسکراہٹ نرم نہیں تھی۔
“اچھا ہے۔”
اس نے دھیرے سے کہا۔
“ویسے بھی مجھے کبھی اُن کی پسند بننے کا شوق نہیں رہا۔”

“تمہارے یہی رویے ایک دن تمہیں بہت مہنگے پڑیں گے۔”
زاویا اب مڑ چکی تھی۔

“پڑ تو بچپن سے رہے ہیں، ماہین بیگم۔”
