یہ کہانی دو دشمن خاندانوں چوہدریوں اور مالکوں کے گرد گھومتی ہے جہاں پرانی دشمنی , خون, غرور اور انتقام کی فضا قائم ہوتی ہے مگر وقت کے ساتھ حالات بدلتے ہیں , تلخیاں کم ہوتی ہیں اور رشتے صلح میں بدل جاتے ہیں۔ محبتیں جنم لیتی ہیں, کچھ کرداروں کو بچھڑنے کا دکھ سہنا پڑتا ہے مگر آخرکار مکافاتِ عمل سب کو یہ احساس دلاتا ہے کہ غرور خاک میں مل جاتا ہے اور وفا و محبت ہمیشہ قائم رہتی ہے۔ اس میں دیہاتی (پینڈ) زندگی , وہاں کا سادہ رہن سہن اور ثقافت بھی خوبصورتی سے دکھائی گئی ہے…

کمرے کی فضا ان کے دکھ سے بوجھل ہو گئی ۔
دروازے کے باہر ہلکے اندھیرے میں کھڑی شانزے بھابھی یہ سب سن رہی تھی ۔
اس کے چہرے پر ایک عجیب سی مسکراہٹ تھی جیسے کسی سازش کی جیت قریب ہو ۔
نا نا شاہ نور چوہدری صرف منگنی نہیں بلکہ اب میں تیرا نکاح اپنے بھائی کے ساتھ کروا کر ہی دم لوں گی
وہ دل ہی دل میں بولی ۔
پھر آہستہ سے پلٹی اس کے قدموں کی چاپ بھی سنائی نہ دی ۔
پھر وہ مسکراتی ہوئی اپنے کمرے کی طرف بڑھ گئی ۔
ادھر کمرے میں ماں بیٹی ایک دوسرے سے لپٹی بیٹھی تھیں ۔
ایک ہار چکی تھی اور دوسری اپنی بیٹی کی ہار پر ٹوٹ رہی تھی ۔
باہر رات گہری ہو رہی تھی ۔
اور اس گھر کے اندر بھی اندھیرا اتر چکا تھا ۔

” آپ کی لاڈلی دھی شاہ نور کا ملک شاہ ویر کے ساتھ کب سے چکر چل رہا تھا ڈیرے پر جانے کے بہانے اُس سے ملنے جاتی تھی اور ,
وہ جو اچانک شہر چھوڑ کر پینڈ آئی تھی نا صرف ملک شاہ ویر کے لیے آئی تھی آپ کی دھی کا اُس کے بغیر دل ہی نہیں لگتا تھا۔”
یہ الفاظ یاد آتے ہی اماں جی گھبرا کر بستر پر سیدھی بیٹھ گئیں اُن کے چہرے پر اذیت صاف جھلک رہی تھی۔
پھر شانزے کی ایک اور بات اُن کے ذہن میں بجلی بن کر کوندی ,
” اور شاہ نور کو پچھلے دنوں کوئی بخار وُخار نہیں تھا اُسے تو ملک شاہ ویر کی شادی کا غم لگا ہوا تھا اور اُس کی شادی سے پہلے رات کے وقت گھر کی دیواریں پھلانگ کر اُس سے ملنے گئی تھی توبہ توبہ ہے ایسی لڑکی پر “
وہ منظر بھی اماں جی کی آنکھوں میں گھوم گیا جب شانزے نے یہ سب باتیں شاہ نور کے باپ اور بھائیوں کے سامنے بے دھڑک کہہ دی تھیں اور شرمندگی سے سب کی نظریں جھک گئی تھیں۔
یہ سوچتے ہی اماں جی کی آنکھیں بھر آئیں اُنہوں نے کانپتے ہاتھوں سے جگ اٹھایا گلاس میں پانی انڈیلا اور ایک ہی سانس میں پی گئی۔
شاہ نور دھی تُو نے یہ کیا کر دِتا تُو تے اپنے ماں باپ دا مان غرور سی , وہ روتے ہوئے بڑبڑائیں۔
پھر اپنے کمزور , کپکپاتے ہاتھ چہرے پر رکھ کر پھوٹ پھوٹ کر رونے لگیں ۔
کمرے میں اُن کی دبی دبی سسکیاں دیر تک گونجتی رہیں ۔
ادھر شاہ نور وضو کیے خاموشی سے جائے نماز پر کھڑی ہو گئی اور تہجد کی نماز ادا کرنے لگی ہر سجدے میں اُس کے آنسو جائے نماز کو بھگوتے رہے
تھے ۔
نماز کے بعد وہ وہیں جائے نماز پر بیٹھی تسبیح کے دانے گھماتی رہی , پھر نہ جانے کب روتے روتے اُسی جائے نماز پر اُس کی آنکھ لگ گئی۔
