“مجھے یہ خیال ہی نہیں آیا کہ میں ان کی سب باتیں کیوں سن رہی ہوں۔ میرے پاس دو دو گھر ہیں ایک اسلام آباد میں ایک لاہور میں اور میرے شوہر کا ذاتی ٹیکسٹائیل کا کاروبار بھی ہے۔ جو چل تو رہا ہے بس اسے میری تھوڑی سی توجہ کی ضرورت ہے۔ میرے شاید ابھی تک اعصاب بحال ہی نہیں ہوئے تھے۔ میں اس بات کو قبول ہی نہیں کر پائی تھی کہ بلال اب ہم میں موجود نہیں۔ یہی ہم عورتوں کی سب سے بڑی غلطی ہوتی ہے کہ خود کو سنبھالتی ہی نہیں۔”
جانم بی نے بیگم سلطانہ کی طرف دیکھتے ہوئے کہا
” آپ کو پتا ہے میرے سب سے بڑے جیٹھ کمال بخاری نے گھر میں سب کو کہنا شروع کر دیا کہ جمیلہ تو ابھی بہت جوان اور خوبصورت ہے۔ ساری زندگی تو اس طرح اس کے والدین نہیں رہنے دیں گے تو اگر اس کے والدین نے اس کی شادی کر دی تو ہمارے بلال کے بچوں کا کیا بنے گا۔ اب گھر میں سب کو یہ فکر لاحق ہو گئی کہ کیا میرے والدین میری شادی کرنا چاہ رہے ہیں۔ میں نے کئی بار انھیں سمجھانے کی کوشش کہ مجھے دوبارہ شادی نہیں کرنی۔ میں بلال کے سوا کسی اور کو ہم سفر بنا ہی نہیں سکتی۔ بلال نہیں ہیں تو کیا ہوا ان کے بچوں کا ساتھ تو ہے میرے پاس۔ انھیں پالنا ہی میری زندگی کا مقصد ہے۔”
بیگم سلطانہ جانم بی کی خراب ہوتی طبیعت کی وجہ سے پریشان ہو گئیں لیکن وہ یہ بھی جانتی تھیں جب تک وہ بات مکمل نہیں کریں گی بے چین ہی رہیں گی۔ بیگم سلطانہ بولیں
“شوہر محبت کرنے والا ہو تو اس کے ساتھ گزرے چند پلوں کے عوض عورت اپنی ساری زندگی اس کے نام کے ساتھ گزار سکتی ہے میں یہ بات بہت اچھی طرح سے جانتی ہوں۔”
