کہانی کا آغاز علی اور میجر خضر آفندی کے درمیان ایک انتہائی گہرے، جذباتی اور فلسفیانہ مکالمے سے ہوتا ہے۔ علی اپنی محبت کی شدت کا اعتراف کرتے ہوئے کہتا ہے کہ جب عقیدت شدت پکڑ لے تو انسان مقامِ عشق پر پہنچ جاتا ہے، جہاں سے واپسی کا کوئی راستہ نہیں ہوتا۔ خضر اسے سمجھاتا ہے کہ وہ ایک پختہ مرد ہے اور جس لڑکی (شانزے) سے وہ محبت کرتا ہے، وہ ابھی ان چیزوں کو سمجھنے کے لیے شاید اتنی میچور نہیں ہے۔ خضر اسے مشورہ دیتا ہے کہ وہ اسے احساس دلائے کہ وہ بہت خاص ہے۔

اس جذباتی گفتگو اور اندرونی جلن کے ہاتھوں مجبور ہو کر، سگریٹ سے نفرت کرنے والا علی خضر کے ہاتھ سے سگریٹ جھپٹ کر لمبے کش لینے لگتا ہے۔ علی کا یہ اگرِیسو روپ خضر کو بھی پریشان کر دیتا ہے، کیونکہ علی اپنے ہی جذبات کی آگ میں جھلس رہا ہے اور روئے بغیر اندر سے ٹوٹ رہا ہے۔

کرداروں کا تعارف

علی: کہانی کا ایک مرکزی، سنجیدہ اور میچور (پختہ کار) کردار جو “شانزے” نامی لڑکی کے لیے دل میں شدید تڑپ، درد اور محبت کی آگ چھپائے ہوئے ہے۔ وہ بظاہر پرسکون اور مضبوط مرد نظر آتا ہے، مگر اندرونی جذباتی جنگ اسے بے بس اور اگرِیسو (غصہ ور) بنا رہی ہے۔

میجر خضر آفندی: علی کا گہرا اور مخلص دوست۔ وہ ‘آفندی مینشن’ کا چشم و چراغ اور جنرل صاحب کا داماد ہے۔ خضر ایک انتہائی باوقار، سخت گیر مگر دوست کا درد سمجھنے والا فوجی افسر ہے۔ وہ خود بھی کسی پراسرار محبت یا خاندانی الجھن (بستر پر علیل خاتون) کا بوجھ اٹھائے ہوئے ہے۔

سارہ جہانگیر: ایک خوبصورت، منہ پھٹ اور یونیورسٹی کی طالبہ جو غیر ضروری گفتگو اور لڑکوں کی بے جا توجہ سے چڑتی ہے۔ وہ ڈرائیونگ سیٹ پر بیٹھنے والی اور اپنی بات پر اڑ جانے والی لڑکی ہے، جو پہلی قسط کے اختتام پر ایک پراسرار فون کال کی وجہ سے حیرت زدہ رہ جاتی ہے۔

شانزے: سارہ کی قریبی دوست اور یونیورسٹی کی ساتھی۔ وہ سارہ کے معاملات (خصوصاً سعد والے معاملے) پر فکر مند رہتی ہے اور کہانی کے اہم تانے بانے اس کے گرد بھی بنتے ہیں۔

محرین (مینو): ایک کالج جانے والی معصوم اور ڈرپوک لڑکی، جسے راستے میں کسی اوباش لڑکے نے ہراساں کیا، جس کی وجہ سے وہ شدید خوف کا شکار ہے اور رو پڑتی ہے۔

مصفرہ (اصفی) اور مشی: محرین کی بہنیں/سہیلیاں جو اسے سنبھالتی ہیں اور گھر کے ماحول کو نارمل رکھنے کی کوشش کرتی ہیں۔

ناول “عین شین ق” اردو ادب کی ابھرتی ہوئی اور باصلاحیت لکھاری “گلسم” کے قلم کا شاہکار ہے۔ گلسم کا اندازِ تحریر روایتی رومانوی داستانوں سے بالکل الگ اور منفرد ہے۔ وہ اپنی تحریروں میں عشق کے حقیقی فلسفے، انسانی نفسیات، اور مردانہ کرداروں کی اندرونی جذباتی کشمکش کو بہت خوبصورتی سے اجاگر کرتی ہیں۔ ان کی سب سے بڑی خاصیت یہ ہے کہ وہ کہانی میں سسپنس، رومانس اور خاندانی اقدار کا ایسا توازن برقرار رکھتی ہیں کہ قاری ہر لمحہ تجسس کا شکار رہتا ہے۔

ابھی اسکی آنکھ لگے کچھ دیر گزری تھی کی فون کی چنگھاڑتی ہوئ آواز اس کی نیند میں خلل پیدا کر چکی تھی اس نے کان پہ تکیہ رکھ کر اگنور کرنا چاہا   لیکن سامنے والا بھی کوئ ڈھیٹ معلوم ہورہا تھا اور اب اس کی نیند خراب کر چکا تھا چوتھی بار کی گئ کال پہ وہ بنا دیکھے پھٹ پڑی تھی

Who the hell are u?? huh, … you … you’are u insane ? I have cut your calls several times already ;

سوتے ہوئے اسے ڈسٹرب کر نا ؛اسے یہ چیز بہت ناگوار تھی  ، یہ بات اس کے گھر میں سب بخو بی  جانتے تھے

تو اس وقت کال کرنے والا یقینناً   آؤٹ سئیڈر تھا اور وہ جو بھی تھا وہ اسے اب بخشنے کا ارادہ باکل نہی رکھتی تھی 

 جبکہ دوسری طرف سے خاموشی اختیار کی گئ تھی ۔۔

اب اس نے فون کان سے ہٹا یا تھا اور ان ناؤن نمبر دیکھ ماتھے پہ بل آئے تھے

‘اب منہ میں گھی جما رکھی ہے ،پہلے کال پہ کال کیے جارہے تھے آئیندہ مجھے کبھی کال کیی اینڈ یو ول پے فار اٹ۔۔مائینڈ اٹ ؛وہ کال کٹ کرتی جب دوسری طرف سے آتی ہسی کی آواز اس کی توجہ کھینچ چکی تھی

 آواز کچھ شناسا لگی تھی ۔دماغ میں ایک جھماکا ہواتھا اور  اب بچا کچا نیند کا خمار بھی بھک سے اڑا تھا  ،  ایک لمحے کو سب ساکت معلوم ہوا  اور پھر دل ایک سو اسی کی رفتار سے بھی تیز چلنے لگا

او  میرے خدایا !یہ وہ نہی ہو پلیز ،،اس نے دل ہی دل میں دعا مانگی تھی ۔

‘مِس  سارہ جہانگیر ‘ آر یو لسننگ ؟

یہ کہتے اس نے اپنے نچلے ہونٹ کا کنارہ   دانتوں تلے دبایا تھا جیسے جانتا تھا اس کا کیا ردِ عمل ہو گا ۔۔
