وہ اس وقت ہسپتال کے کوریڈور میں کھڑی تھی۔
اُس کے ہاتھ برف کی مانند ٹھنڈے ہو رہے تھے۔
کون کہتا ہے کہ قبرستان سے لوگوں کو ڈر لگتا ہے؟
وہ تو خاموش رہتے ہیں،
واپس کوئی نہیں آتا۔
اصل خوف تو ہسپتال سے آتا ہے،
جہاں آپ کے عزیز ہوتے ہیں
اور آپ کو یہ ڈر ہوتا ہے
کہ کہیں وہ آپ کو چھوڑ نہ جائیں۔
کیا تم نے کبھی ہسپتال کی خاموشی دیکھی ہے؟
وہ خاموشی کسی موت کی طرف مڑتی ہے…
اور آج اُس نے اعتراف کر لیا تھا۔
نفرَت چاہے جتنی بھی ہو،
لیکن اس جگہ
یہ ایک ایسی قوت پیدا کر دیتی ہے
جو آپ کو نفرت کرنے نہیں دیتی—مجبور کر دیتی ہے۔
وہ آئی سی یو کی ریڈ لائٹ کو دیکھ رہی تھی،
اس کے بجھ جانے کا انتظار کر رہی تھی۔
مگر انتظار کبھی کبھی بہت تکلیف دیتا ہے،
اور اگر یہ انتظار ہمیشہ کے لیے رکھ دیا جائے تو…

اُسے معلوم نہیں تھا
وہ کتنی دیر وہاں بیٹھی
روتی رہی۔
دعائیں، منتیں،
فریاد—
شاید ایسا کچھ بھی نہ تھا
جو اُس نے نہ کیا ہو۔
پھر اچانک
آئی سی یو کی لائٹ بند ہو گئی۔
اُس نے دیکھا—
اور دل بے قابو ہو کر
تیزی سے دھڑکنے لگا۔
وہ اُٹھنا چاہتی تھی،
مگر ٹانگوں میں جان نہ تھی۔
اسی لمحے
ایک ڈاکٹر باہر آیا
اور اُس کے قریب آ کر رک گیا۔
وہ کچھ کہہ رہا تھا،
مگر اُس کے کان
کچھ سننے سے انکار کر رہے تھے۔
وہ بس
یک ٹک ڈاکٹر کو دیکھ رہی تھی—
جیسے خود کو یہ یقین دلانا چاہتی ہو
کہ جو ہو رہا ہے
وہ سب حقیقت ہے…
کوئی خواب نہیں۔
