ہم سب یہیں ہوں گے اس کے ساتھ—ہمارا پورا دستہ۔آپ ہماری بات پر یقین کیوں نہیں کر رہیں؟”
انسپکٹر قدرے بے بسی سے بولا۔
“اچھا… میں آپ کی بات پر یقین کر لوں؟”
اس کی آواز کانپنے لگی۔
“میرے بابا… میرے چچا…
ان دونوں کو میں کھو چکی ہوں، اور ان دونوں کی باری میں آپ نے یہی کہا تھا…”
اس کی آواز رُندھ گئی۔ آنکھوں میں نمی چمک اٹھی۔
“اپیا… آپ مت روئیں۔ مجھے کچھ نہیں ہوگا۔میں آپ کے ساتھ رہوں گا، ہمیشہ…”
اس کے ساتھ کھڑا دبلا پتلا لڑکا بولا۔ وہ نیلی جیکٹ اور جینز میں ملبوس بارہ، تیرہ سال کا لڑکا تھا۔ بھورے، گھنگریالے بال ماتھے پر بکھرے ہوئے تھے، اس کی آنکھیں بالکل اپنی بہن جیسی تھیں—ہو بہو۔
“تم نہیں جانتے، ریان…وہ کتنا خطرناک ہے۔وہ کسی کو نہیں بخشتاپلیز انسپکٹر… پلیز…”
وہ اب پھوٹ پھوٹ کر رو رہی تھی۔
“میرے بھائی کو بچا لیجیے۔میں آپ سے اور کچھ نہیں مانگوں گی… پلیز…”
“بیبی، میری بات تحمل سے سنیں۔
ہم آپ کے بھائی کو بچا لیں گے۔
آپ کے باقی لوگوں کی باری ہم نے انہیں سیف ہاؤس بھجوا دیا تھا،
لیکن اس بار ہم خود اس کے ساتھ ہوں گے۔آپ فکرمند نہ ہوں۔”

اس نے انگلیوں کے پوروں سے آنسو صاف کیے اور اثبات میں سر ہلا دیا۔
“اب آپ جائیں۔ٹھیک دس بجے ہم ریان کو یہیں، اپنے پاس لے آئیں گے۔
آپ بالکل فکر نہ کریں۔”
“اگر انہوں نے دس سے پہلے مجھے مار دیا تو؟”
ریان نے خوفزدہ آواز میں پوچھا۔
“ریان… وہ ہمیشہ ایک ہی وقت پر وار کرتا ہے۔تم بالکل فکر نہ کرو، میری جان۔تمہیں کچھ نہیں ہوگا۔”
