“پھر تم نے بات کیوں کی؟ ایک بار کی بات تمہارے دماغ میں گھستی کیوں نہیں؟”
سامنے کھڑی معصوم لڑکی کا جسم تھرتھرا رہا تھا۔ اس کی آنکھیں جھکی ہوئیں، ہونٹ کپکپا رہے تھے۔
“م… میں نے بات نہیں کی۔ وہ خود آیا تھا میرے پاس—”
“اگر وہ آیا تھا تو تمہیں وہیں سے ہٹ جانا چاہیے تھا!”
وہ ایک قدم آگے بڑھا، لہجہ تیز ہوا، “کیا ضرورت تھی تمہیں اس کا جواب دینے کی؟”
مہر نے گھبرا کر سر اٹھایا۔ اس کی آنکھوں میں آنسو جمع ہو رہے تھے۔
“لالا… میں آج کے بعد ان کے پاس بھی نہیں جاؤں گی۔ پکا پرومس…”
“کتنی بار سمجھایا ہے، میں تمہارا لالا نہیں ہوں!”
اس نے دھاڑ کر کہا، آواز حد سے گزر گئی۔
کمرے میں ایک پل کے لیے سناٹا چھا گیا۔ صرف لڑکی کی دبی ہوئی سسکی سنائی دی۔
“س… سوری…”
“نکلو یہاں سے!” اس نے انگلی سے دروازے کی طرف اشارہ کیا، “اس سے پہلے کہ میں کچھ غلط کر بیٹھوں۔ اور خبردار، اگر دوبارہ میرے سامنے آنے کی کوشش کی… تو جان سے جاؤ گی۔”
مہر نے تیزی سے سر ہلایا، اور پلٹ کر کمرے سے نکل گئی۔ اس کے قدموں کی آواز جلدی جلدی دور ہوتی گئی۔
دروازہ بند ہوا تو اس نے غصے سے سامنے پڑی ٹیبل پر ہاتھ مارا۔ گلاس، فائلز، قلم—سب کچھ فرش پر بکھر گیا، چھنکنے کی آواز نے کمرے کی خاموشی چیر دی۔
“تمہاری جان… کسی دن میرے ہی ہاتھوں جائے گی!”
سانس تیز چل رہی تھی۔ غصہ ابھی ٹھنڈا نہیں ہوا تھا، مگر کمرہ خالی تھا۔ اور فرش پر بکھرا سامان… اس کے اپنے ہی طوفان کی گواہی دے رہا تھا۔
