اپنے ماضی کو بھلانے اور خود کو پرسکون رکھنے کے لیے اُس نے تھراپی شروع کی اور ایک پرائیویٹ کالج میں پڑھانا شروع کیا۔ وہ اپنے بچپن کے خواب — کمشنر بننے — کو بھول چکی تھی اور اب اپنی زندگی میں آگے بڑھنے کی کوشش کر رہی تھی۔
اُس کی زندگی ابھی سنبھلنا شروع ہی ہوئی تھی کہ اُسے ایک نامعلوم نمبر سے خطرناک پیغامات آنے لگے۔ اس نمبر سے آنے والے پیغامات میں کبھی اُسے دھمکیاں دی جاتیں، کبھی اُس کے اور اُس کے خاندان کے بارے میں ایسے تاریک راز بتائے جاتے جو منہا کے لیے ناقابلِ یقین تھے۔
اسی دوران منہا کو معلوم ہوا کہ اُس کے والد کار حادثے میں نہیں مرے تھے بلکہ کسی نے اُنہیں بے رحمی سے قتل کیا تھا۔ اُس کا پہلا شک اپنے سابق شوہر پر گیا۔ مگر اپنی ماں اور بہن — جو اُس کا واحد خاندان تھیں — کی حفاظت کے لیے منہا نے فیصلہ کیا کہ وہ اس راز کی جڑ تک پہنچے گی اور پتا لگائے گی کہ آخر اُس نامعلوم نمبر کے پیچھے کون ہے۔
یہ سب جاننے کے لیے اُسے ایک ایسے شخص کے ساتھ کام کرنا پڑا جس سے وہ سخت نفرت کرتی تھی — ارتضیٰ حسن۔

ارتضیٰ حسن بتیس (32) سالہ ایف آئی اے آفیسر ہے جس کی زندگی مجرموں، منشیات فروشوں، بچوں کے اسمگلروں، اور انسانوں کے خرید و فروخت کرنے والوں کے پیچھے بھاگتے گزرتی ہے۔ اس کی نوکری خطرات سے بھری ہے اور اکثر اُسے جان سے مارنے کی دھمکیاں ملتی رہتی ہیں۔ بظاہر وہ دوسروں کے لیے ایک بہادر، قابل اور نیک شخص لگتا ہے، مگر خود نہیں جانتا کہ وہ ہیرو ہے یا ولن۔
اپنے پیشے اور ضمیر کے بیچ یہ کشمکش اُسے ہمیشہ ستاتی ہے — کہ آیا اُس نے اپنے کیے ہوئے کاموں سے انصاف دیا یا قتل۔ اُس کی زندگی اور اُس کے اعمال آج بھی اُس کے لیے ایک حل نہ ہونے والا معمہ ہیں۔
اُس کی زندگی کا سب سے بڑا موڑ وہ لمحہ ہے جب اُسے احساس ہوتا ہے کہ اُسے خود یہ پتا لگانا ہوگا کہ اُس کے والد اور بڑے بھائی کو آخر کیوں مارا گیا اور وہ کس جرم کی سزا بھگت رہے تھے۔
اپنے والد اور بھائی کے قتل کے بعد جب اُسے کچھ ایسے راز معلوم ہوتے ہیں جو اُس کے اپنے نظریۂ انصاف کو ہلا دیتے ہیں، تو وہ ایک ایسی لڑکی کے ساتھ کام کرنے پر مجبور ہوتا ہے جو اُسے نفرت کی حد تک ناپسند کرتی ہے — اور جس سے اُسے شادی کرنی پڑتی ہے۔

آمنہ بیگم نے سلائی روکی، اپنی عینک ناک پر سیدھی کی اور نور کو دیکھا۔ “نور العین بیٹا، تم اپنی کامیابی پر زیادہ خوش ہوئی ہو یا نتاشا کے ہارنے پر؟”
نور نے کندھے اُچکائے۔ “آف کورس ماما، اپنی کامیابی پر خوش ہوئی ہوں! مجھے کیا لینا دینا اُس لبرل سے۔” نور نے موبائل نکال کر سبز چائے کے کپ کی Snapchat پر تصویر لی اور دوستوں کو بھیج دی.
“اچھا بیٹی! لگ تو رہا ہے کہ اپنی محنت اور کامیابی پر نہیں بلکہ کسی دوسرے کی ناکامی پر زیادہ خوش ہوئی ہو،” یہ کہہ کر آمنہ بیگم دوبارہ کام کرنے لگیں۔
مِنہا نے آمنہ کی بات پر اتفاق کیا، “ماما بالکل ٹھیک کہہ رہی ہیں نور، کیوں کہ اگر کوئی انسان جسے اتنی محنت کی ہو، وہ دوسروں کی محنت کو نظر انداز نہیں کرتا، بلکہ اگر اُس کا opponent ہار بھی جائے تو وہ اُس کی ناکامی سے کچھ سیکھتا ہے، نہ کہ اُس کا مذاق اُڑاتا ہے.”
نور کُہرائی، “اچھا نا! سمجھ گئی، آپ نہیں چاہتیں میں نتاشا کے بارے میں کچھ کہوں۔”
مِنہا شرارتی سا مسکرائی، ” absolutely !”

”نور، یار کیسی ہو؟ میں نے کل تمہاری لائیو سٹریم دیکھی، یار کمال کر دیا تم نے! “۔ صبا نے ایک دم سے نور کے پچھلے جیتی گئے ویڈیو گیم کی تعریف کرنا شروع کر دی۔
نور نے اپنی کہنی اس کی گرفت سے چھڑائی اور کانوں سے ایئر پوڈز نکالے۔
”صبا ! یار تم نے تو مجھے ڈرا ہی دیا اور کیا کہہ رہی تھی تم، ذرا دوبارہ بولو“۔
صبا نے آنکھیں گھمائیں اور کہا۔ ” یار میں تعریف کر رہی تھی! کل تم آن لائن لائیو سٹریم پر فورٹ نائٹ (Fortnite) کھیل رہی تھیں۔ تب وہ امریکن لڑکا جو تمہارے ساتھ کھیل رہا تھا، وہ کیسے تمہارے لڑکی اور پاکستانی ہونے پر مذاق بنا رہا تھا، لیکن تم نے کیسے اُسے ہرا کر پانچ سو لوگوں کے سامنے ذلیل کیا! “
”اوہ ہاں وہ… “۔ نور مسکرائی، ”تم نے بھی دیکھا تھا، مجھے خوشی ہوئی۔ اور ایسے لوگوں کے ساتھ تو میرا واسطہ بہت دفعہ پڑتا ہے۔ یہ باہر والے سمجھتے ہیں کہ ہم لڑکیوں کو کچھ نہیں آتا“۔ نور نے کان کے پیچھے بال کیے۔
”لیکن دیکھو! میں نے کیسے اسے سب کے سامنے گرا دیا۔ بڑا آیا چیٹ پر بول رہا تھا کہ میں ہار جاؤں گی اور لوگوں کو چیلنج دے رہا تھا۔ لیکن دیکھو، خود ہی منہ کے بل کھا گیا۔ “Idiot
صبا ہنسی اور کہا” یقین ہے مجھے، اب وہ دوبارہ نہیں آئے گا۔“
