“کیا بتانا ہے؟” زائرہ نے بھنویں سکیڑتے ہوئے پوچھا۔
“وہ دراصل تمہارے جانے کے بعد میں، فاریہ اور روحی… ہم تینوں تمہارے بارے میں جاننے کے لیے دو تین بار تمہارے گھر گئے تھے، کیونکہ تم جانتی ہو اتنے عرصے تک ہمارا کوئی رابطہ نہیں رہا تھا اور…” عالیہ نظریں جھکا کر خاموش ہو گئی۔
“اور کیا، عالیہ؟” اس کے خاموش ہو جانے پر زائرہ نے فکرمندی سے پوچھا۔
“اور وہاں جا کر پتا چلا کہ تمہارے ڈیڈ نے ہم تینوں کی تمہارے گھر میں آمد پر پابندی لگا دی تھی۔ میری تو نہیں، لیکن فاریہ اور روحی کی ضرور، کیونکہ میں تمہارے ڈیڈ کے بزنس پارٹنر کی بیٹی ہوں۔ مجھے منع کرنا شاید ان کے لیے مناسب نہیں تھا۔” عالیہ اب بغیر کسی جھجک کے اپنی بات کہہ رہی تھی۔
“ک… کیا؟ یہ کب ہوا؟ اور مجھے اس بارے میں کیوں نہیں پتا تھا؟ فاریہ اور روحی نے تو مجھے کچھ نہیں بتایا!” زائرہ اس کی بات سن کر ششدر رہ گئی۔
“وہ نہیں بتاتیں۔ ایسا نہیں ہے کہ انہیں برا نہیں لگا تھا، لگا تھا… اور بہت برا لگا تھا۔ مگر انہیں تمہارے ڈیڈ سے نہیں، تم سے مطلب ہے۔ اللہ نے ہمیں بہت اچھے دوستوں سے نوازا ہے۔ وہ کبھی بھی تمہیں ایسی باتیں بتا کر مزید شرمندہ نہیں کرنا چاہتی تھیں۔” عالیہ نے نرمی سے کہا، پھر مزید بولی: “میں تمہیں اس لیے بتا رہی ہوں تاکہ تم اس بارے میں اپنے ڈیڈ سے بات کرو۔ آخر انہیں فاریہ اور روحی سے مسئلہ کیا ہے؟”
عالیہ خاموش ہو گئی جبکہ زائرہ کچھ کہہ ہی نہ سکی۔
“ڈیڈ ایسا کیسے کر سکتے ہیں؟” وہ ایک لمحے کے لیے سوچ میں پڑ گئی تھی۔
“شاید یہ سب اُس دن کے بعد ہوا تھا جب ہم تینوں تمہارے گھر تمہارے لیے بات کرنے گئے تھے۔” عالیہ نے یاد کرتے ہوئے کہا۔
“اوہ! تو یہ سب میری وجہ سے ہوا ہے۔” زائرہ کو بے حد برا محسوس ہوا۔ اس کے چہرے سے صاف ظاہر ہو رہا تھا کہ وہ شرمندہ ہے۔
“دیکھو زائرہ، پلیز اپنے اوپر کوئی الزام مت لو۔ ہم سب جانتے ہیں کہ تم بہت اچھی ہو۔ اس میں تمہاری کوئی غلطی نہیں ہے۔” عالیہ نے اس کے چہرے کے تاثرات دیکھ کر اسے سمجھانے کی کوشش کی۔
